Collaborative GEO|Design+BIM: Standards & Interoperability The AEC industry has traditionally been operating in a very siloed-way. The information created via BIM or otherwise is often focused on a particular profession (architect vs. engineer vs. contractor) and for very specific purposes. Today, BIM-based models are becoming the main data type within AEC projects regardless of discipline. This has dramatically increased the need to transfer this information between organizations.

Interoperability is the best way forward for the industry in order to generate collaborative insights between professionals for a better-informed design, construction and even operations. With such an approach, multi-discipline teams can freely exchange design and construction data. The session will discuss various industry best practices utilizing data standards and interoperable software as the key to a successful collaborative geodesign and BIM implementation.
