Geospatial analytics is modernizing and impacting planning decisions in cities. In order to deliver smart city services, smart buildings and smart infrastructure, geo-enabled design processes and planning technology can help in evaluating planning proposals against possible outcomes, engage diverse voices, and communicate effectively across departments and with the public. Practicing smart planning approach will make the planning system easier to understand, and more efficient, accessible, open and collaborative, through simpler rules and modern digital tools. The session will highlight new technologies that can simplify planning processes and services, and improve engagement; making cities more efficient, transparent, and investment-friendly.
